SkinPen in Richmond Hill
What is SkinPen?
SkinPen is a skin rejuvenation device, developed by the dermatology team at Crown Aesthetics. The device is FDA cleared and safe in use. It is made in the USA and has been clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. We offer you SkinPen kit with your microneedling session.
What can SkinPen be used for?
Applying it directly on your face Doing it through an application on an existing scarring or wrinkles (or even a birthmark) Doing it all over your face (like a scar removal treatment), Hyperpigmentation and Acne Scars. An area you don’t want anything done to. The only thing that’s not possible with this device: making a permanent change in your skin.
SkinPen is the world’s first FDA-approved microneedling device, which uses a skin needle to treat fine lines and wrinkles. The device works by stimulating the dermis to produce collagen, which is responsible for skin volume, firmness and elasticity. There are three different types of needles: one for superficial wrinkle reduction; one for deeper wrinkle reduction; and one for treatment of crow’s feet (the small lines around the corners of the eye).
What makes SkinPen different from other devices in the market?
The FDA requires that any company selling a device with a number on it must have an application that proves that it works to reduce fine lines, wrinkles or crow’s feet. There are several devices which claim to work on wrinkles or fine lines, but none have been approved by the FDA as safe for use on humans – both because there was no reliable clinical evidence and because there is no such thing as a “firm” wrinkle or “tight” crease.
Microneedling is a very powerful and potentially life-changing technology that may be used to treat a wide range of conditions, from acne and cellulite to chronic pain. While there are many companies that sell microneedling devices, the vast majority of products are not safe for use. We have taken the time to make sure that SkinPen is safe for use by people who want to improve their skin health and make themselves look younger. If you’re looking for a quick fix to your wrinkles, fine lines or sagging skin, SkinPen might be the answer you’ve been looking for.
Microneedling devices have become an increasingly popular way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, but there are as many variations in price as there are models. Many of these devices are targeted at aesthetic and cosmetic care, while others are used in dermatology.
Is SkinPen safe?
The FDA has cleared a microneedling device (“SkinPen”), called the Crown Aesthetics SkinPen. The device is made in the USA by Crown Aesthetics, and it is the first FDA approved microneedling device that uses a hand-held mechanical “micro needle” to deliver micro needles of varying sizes into specific targeted areas of skin.
How was SkinPen’s FDA approval process?
The FDA approval was based on an extensive study involving more than 1,500 volunteers from various age groups.
The study showed that:
• The device was safe for non-injection purposes (i.e., for patients who have not received previous injections or have no history of injections)
• The device did not increase pain or discomfort
• There were no adverse effects reported, including allergic reactions and skin irritation as well as temporary bruising after usage (a common side effect with other devices)
• The results showed statistically significant improvement in fine lines and wrinkles when compared to a placebo group of patients (both men and women) who had previously injected themselves with a similar microneedling device. This shows that the Crown Aesthetics SkinPen displayed significant efficacy for reducing fine lines and wrinkles when compared to a placebo group of patients who have previously injected themselves with similar devices.
The study also showed that there was an improvement in overall skin quality for both men and women, regardless of age. The study also showed that there was no change in skin tone or texture after usage (i.e., there were no redness or swelling). The study also showed that 25% more wrinkles were reduced when compared to an active control group which had previously injected themselves with a similar microneedling device.
This shows that the Crown Aesthetics SkinPen displayed significant efficacy for reducing fine lines and wrinkles when compared to an active control group which had previously injected themselves with a similar microneedling device. The study also showed that inflammation was reduced after usage, indicating less irritation while using SkinPen. The researchers concluded that “these results indicate that this new microneedling technique is safe, effective, and technically efficient in terms of its delivery system.
SkinPen procedures and downtime
Procedures take between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the area and severity of damage to the skin. Even though some redness and swelling will occur right after the procedure, patients usually experience very little redness and downtime as low as 24-48 hours.
